Alex Farm Products Ltd. was created in 1980 based on a concept that was developed by Alexander and Patricia Stroutzas in 1978. They believed that the food industry was becoming a bastion for Major factory producers, and Marketing boards. Alexander and Patricia's vision was for the creation of a retail shop that provided a venue for small producers, and artisans to expose their goods.
The concept sprang to life at the historic St. Lawrence Market of Toronto. It began with a collapsible wooden table, a few dozen farm fresh eggs, and a lot of conviction. The concept was an instant success with the Citizens of Toronto. A family managed operation with a passion for obscure and delicate foods, a novel concept.
The operation has now blossomed into major cheese retailer, which has been recognized world wide as a leader in the cheese industry. The Operation now carries over 400 different cheeses, with access to over 600 more cheese upon request. The organization strictly follows the edict set forth in 1978 by Alexander and Patricia. They are still energetically involved in shaping the evolution of the Concept.
The development of Alexcheese.com follows the same edicts that have made Alex Farm Products successful. We will invest in the product and insure that the products will always meet or exceed the standards set by Alex and Patricia Stroutzas. This site will act as an extension to the retail operation, and allow the whole of Canada to experience the concept that is an Adventure in Cheese.
